A prolific writer and idea generator, Taylor most recently teamed with Academy Award® winning actor, writer and producer Jamie Foxx to form a new specialty production company named No Brainer Films. Through this Los Angeles-based production banner, Foxx and Taylor develop, finance, write, direct and produce mainstream films and TV series.Among the initial projects green-lit for No Brainer are the NBC television series "Tommy's Little Girl" and the revamped horror/thriller series "Night Tales.""Tommy's Little Girl" is a mob drama starring Selma Blair, Paul Sorvino, Tony Sirico, and James Russo. Taylor is co-writer and co-directer with Jamie Foxx.Taylor is also co-writer and director (with Foxx) on "Night Tales: The Series" - a unique hybrid of "Tales from the Crypt" and "The Twilight Zone." The original 26 episode, 30-minute anthology television series is hosted by Denise Richards and Stacey Dash and features a bevy of talent including Method Man, Tom Arnold and Jason Mewes, to name a few.Taylor continues to run his own thriving production company Deon Taylor Enterprises (DTE), which produces a diverse array of larger budgeted projects born of Taylor's boundless energy as a multi-hyphenate writer, director, producer and financier.Under his DTE banner, Taylor wrote, directed and produced the recently released horror/thriller Chain Letter starring Nikki Reed, Brad Dourif and Betsy Russell. The film opened nationwide in October 2010 and will soon be available on DVD, Blu Ray and VOD.Other recent projects written, directed and produced by Taylor include the comedy The Hustle starring David Alan Grier, Brigitte Nielsen, Bai Ling and Tony Cox; the horror/thriller Dead Tone starring Rutger Hauer, Aimee Garcia and Jonathan Chase; and Night Tales: The Movie with Flavor Flav.Capitalizing on the breakout success and popularity of his "Night Tales" series, Taylor recently launched a new wholly-owned specialty label based on the "Night Tales" brand name. The debut "Night Tales" television series featured recurring star and host, Flavor Flav, and aired on WGN in 2009. The new specialty label is titled "Night Tales Presents" and is solely dedicated to producing commercial horror films and television programming that pushes the envelope of terror. The label produces feature films and television series as well as a softer edged animated kids' series and a branded interactive online platform.Taylor has a background in marketing, sports and promotions. A Nike All-American basketball player from Gary, Indiana, he earned a biology degree at San Diego State University on a full basketball scholarship where he was named that conference's "Newcomer of the Year." Taylor went on to play professionally and still competes weekly in the coveted NBA Entertainment League out of Los Angeles.
